Vantis, the AIM listed accountancy and professional services group has reported a £6.5m pre-tax loss for its year-end 2009 accounts. Significant exceptional costs of £13.7 million were incurred principally relating to the treatment of Investment Plans and rationalisation costs. Revenue for 2009 was reported at £90m, restated from Vantis’s £92.2m in 2008.

“The year has been one of mixed fortunes for the Group. At an operational level, we have shown resilience through a recessionary period with a solid set of trading results. However, we have had setbacks giving rise to a substantial write-off of value from our balance sheet, which is disappointing. Importantly, our debt providers continue to be supportive and we are resolving the challenging issues that face us.”
