Dynamic Decisions Capital Management is being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office. The fund based in the Cayman Islands was founded by Alberto Micalizzi, 41, a former academic from Imperial College London. The professor developed a strategy called growth premium analysis which was the basis on which it traded but the fund apparently ran into difficulties earlier this year.
In May administrators in the Cayman Islands appointed Grant Thornton to liquidate the main fund; Grant Thornton said: “A number of allegations have been made as to the remaining asset value and the nature of the assets held, and the master fund has been unable to pay a number of large redemption requests.”
The SFO opened the investigation after being passed the case by the Financial Services Authority.
