Silly season is upon us. Columns dedicated to warning of the dangers posed by this time of year when alcohol and general giddiness take over are in abundance. But they weren’t warning enough for one City analyst:
To all those who have not yet been warned off inappropriate use of the company email, let this be a lesson to you. Just three days ago, young Holly Leam-Taylor, one of the first year analysts at accountancy giant Deloitte recently decided to get creative in the run-up to Christmas and launch her very own awards via a round-robin email to her female colleagues.
“It’s been nearly four months at Deloitte so I think we should have some sort of Xmas awards ceremony for us ladies about the stuff that really matters at work i.e. gossip/ the boys!” she wrote, full of the joys of the festive season.
Categories for said prizes included “The official Deloitte First-year Analyst Girls Man of the year”; “Fittest boy – looks”; “Fittest boy – body”; “Boy with the best personality”; “Most attractive ‘older’ member of staff”; “Best piece of gossip you’ve heard so far this year”; and – most amusingly – “Boy most likely to sleep his way to the top”.
Something tells us this won’t go away in a hurry…
