Tax amnesty initiatives look set to take off as the Treasury tries to make the UK’s pips squeak. As accountants, this is probably something you or your colleagues have become rather familiar with as worried clients wonder who will be hit next.

And the fear is it could be you. The recently completed, New Disclosure Opportunity (NDO) for offshore accounts, was swiftly followed by HMRC’s Tax Health Plan as “the first initiative in a new HMRC campaign focused on professionals”.

Now concerns are mounting over who HMRC will target next – with some speculating it will be the accountancy profession.
