More Dodgy Accounting From The Political Classes

As four MP’s are charged with false accounting over their expenses claims…

Three Labour MPs Elliot Morley, David Chaytor and Jim Devine, and a Tory peer Lord Hanningfield couldn’t get their sums to add up.

Mr Morley, MP for Scunthorpe, has been charged with two counts of false accounting.

Mr Chaytor, MP for Bury North, has been charged with three counts of false accounting.

Mr Devine, MP for Livingston, is facing prosecution on two charges.

And Lord Hanningfield has been charged with six cases of false accounting.

Daily Telegraph: Keir Starmer, the Director of Public Prosecutions, announced live on television today his decision to prosecute Elliot Morley, David Chaytor and Jim Devine, the Labour MPs, and Lord Hanningfield, the Tory peer.
