This should prove a popular mantra in the run up to the election…
Rich people who stick around are in for a rough time. And if they think tax avoidance measures will suffice to protect some of their hard-earned, they can think again. The Treasury’s financial secretary is one step ahead.
Accountacy Age: “We’re coming through the worst economic difficulty for 70 years. We do think it’s only right that the highest earners should pay the most,” Timms said at the Taxing Our Way Out event sponsored by the Smith Institute and The Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation.

“We will also be robustly tackling avoidance,” he added.
So if you aren’t rich and miserable now, he will do his best to make sure you are very shortly.
Still, beats being poor and miserable.
