Stealth Taxes Ditched

The cider is on this weekend…

The sun has made an appearance and things are feeling a little warmer than they have done for a while.

Fortunate then that political pressure means the cider tax will be dropped. Plans to impose stealth taxes on super-fast broadband, increased taxes on cider, and the scrapping of relief on holiday homes have all been dumped as election fever takes hold.

The cider tax was intended to increase the drink’s cost by 10%, above inflation. Magners lovers can breathe a sigh of relief and keep their fingers crossed for another summer of searing hangovers.
