HMRC loses to Ladbrokes

The odds rarely favour beating a bookmaker.

Ladbrokes has reached a settlement with HMRC which will see it recoup £80m in corporation tax.

In a statement to the Stock Exchange, the betting and gaming firm said it expects to receive around £80m in respect of corporation tax as part of a settlement of “outstanding items” in relation to tax years through to 31 December 2007.
