PKF: HMRC may target accountants and lawyers next

Offshore account holders have already felt the pressure. Then HMRC’s Tax Health Plan as “the first initiative in a new HMRC campaign focused on professionals” drew its attention to the medical profession. Now its lawyers and accountants who should be worried ensure everything is up to scratch.

Neil Whyte, tax adviser and accountants and business advisers PKF, recently told The Journal Online that HMRC is undertaking a “dramatic drive” to increase tax receipts from the public to boost the Government’s revenues.

Reiterating the likelihood that lawyers and accountants will be under the microscope next.
