Despite seeing revenues fall 4.7 per cent to $26.1bn (£17.8bn) last year, Deloitte has opted to keep the troops looking up by carrying out further partnership promotions.

Prior to this announcement, 30 new partners had already been promoted since the start of the year.

Recruitment also continued through the misery of 2009 with Deloitte adding 4,000 staff worldwide.
