Accountants Overworked?

Counting the hours, it looks that way…

This won’t surprise many of you experiencing it first hand but finance professionals around the world are working longer hours…on account of being employed by understaffed and under-resourced companies. But if you think it’s bad here, be glad you aren’t American.

A survey carried out by CIMA, found that among its members, the working week averaged at 45 hours with south-east Asian professionals putting in an average of 48-50 hours while US professionals worked the longest, at 50 hours per week.

Americans do boast higher bonuses though – averaging around 19% compared to the UK’s measly 4% or less!
