The excitement has been pencilled in for November.

And what’s the point?

Well, the Lords will be looking  into the lack of competition in the audit market and the role the firms played in the financial crisis. Which, the firms will obviously be quaking in their boots about. Various watchdogs including the Financial Services Council have submitted papers to the Lords’ Economic Affairs Committee, claiming the biggest financial services firms are able to command inflated fees through their dominance of the market.

Will the Lords agree? And even if the answer’s yes, what can they do to alter the status quo?

November, Jugement Day’s coming…
